An air service agreement between Sweden and Pakistan was signed on 6 March 1958. A new agreement was initialled on 23 March 1999, but has not yet been signed. It has been approved by the Swedish Government. Amendments to the initialled agreement were agreed in 2014. The amendments are applied on an administrative basis. They have been approved by the Swedish Government.

Nothing will prevent a designated airline of either Contracting Party to exercise 5th freedom rights on any intermediate and/or beyond point, except points in Saudi Arabia.
In operating or holding out services on the agreed routes, any designated airline of one Contracting Party may enter into co-operative marketing arrangements such as blocked-space or code sharing arrangements, with an airline or airlines of either Contracting Party; or an airline or airlines of a third party.

Pakistan has concluded a horizontal air service agreement with EU
EU’s horizontal agreement aims at bringing all Member States bilateral agreements with Pakistan to be in line with certain EU provisions. This means that some of the articles in the bilateral agreement between Sweden and Pakistan no longer applies, since they are replaced by the provisions in the horizontal agreement.
