Inspection and certification
The Swedish Transport Agency is the responsible authority for the inspection and certification of ships and ports. The Agency carries out around 4000 inspections, surveys and audits per year, including Port State Control inspections. Although some statutory certificates have been delegated to Recognised Organisations, the Agency still visit all Swedish ships at some point.
The responsibility of the Swedish Transport Agency includes the survey and certification of

- Foreign ships in Swedish ports (Port State Control)
- Swedish ISM-companies
- Security in Swedish ports
