Motor vehicle inspection of light trailers

The vehicle is to be inspected

• for the first time no later than 48 months after the month in which the vehicle was first licensed for use.
• thereafter no later than 24 months after the month in which the last full motor vehicle inspection was carried out.

If the trailer is 50 years old or more, it may be exempt from inspection, although in order for the exemption to take effect, the trailer must have had an approved and valid motor vehicle inspection within the last two calendar years.
