A bilateral Air Service Agreement between the Government of the Republic of South Africa and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden was signed in 2001.

Traffic rights for airlines designated by Sweden

Points in the Kingdom of Sweden - Points in the Republic of South Africa. 

Nothing will prevent the designated airline to serve other points than those specified in this Annex provided that no commercial rights are exercised between those points and the territory of the other Contracting Party. 

Possibility to enter into co-operative marketing arrangements such as blocked-space or code sharing also with a third Party. 

No capacity limitations shall apply in relation to code-sharing. 

Capacity entitlements

Passenger/cargo services: Until otherwise agreed upon by the Aeronautical Authorities of the Contracting Parties, a total of ten (10) frequencies per week with any type of aircraft may be operated between South Africa and Scandinavia, five (5) by the airlines designated by South Africa and five (5) by the airlines designated by the Scandinavian countries. 

Cargo-only services: Until otherwise agreed upon between the Aeronautical Authorities of the Contracting Parties, a total of four (4) frequencies per week with any type of aircraft may be operated between South Africa and the Scandinavian countries, two (2) by the airlines designated by South Africa and two (2) by the airlines designated by the Scandinavian countries.
